Way too productive!

Recently I started to get serious again about my health. Since getting married I sorta kinda got really comfortable and started to gain all my weight back. But good thing is that I have an amazing husband that takes such amazing care of me. He always says "I love your body! You are perfect just the way you are." Of course he is always so wonderful to me.

Today is day four without any Coke... I went through serious withdrawls with major migraines for several days but now I am feeling so much better. I am sleeping through the night and am not having migraines.

I started to go for walks starting Monday. Today I walked in the rain twice for a total of 6.2 miles! I was so soaked but it was worth it. Then we came home and the dogs were so cold but also really dirty. So they got a much needed bath.

So i feel pretty productive. I even finished Brennan's Baby Hat- A bunny Hat I crocheted for him for easter! he is just the cutest baby boy ever. I recently started crocheting again. I picked a really hard blanket to make and I am so thinking I am way in over my head. Maybe I will finish when I have my own baby... but Im thinking that I have a few years to get this all done.

Too stinking excited to move! I just want to get all settled in already. Plus its going to be so awesome! Ok thats enough for now I think....

6 Month MileStone!

I really want to get  a new chair for my office. The one I have is falling apart and it kills my back. So I decided to sit in my new love seat recliner for a bit so that I dont hurt so dang bad. I am even considering moving my recliner to the spot in my office so I can sit in it while I work. I guess I really shouldn't complain too much about work because I have the best job ever. i get to work at home in my sweats and sweatshirt and be with my two puppies and have time to clean my home and relax when i need to. And I get to do this without having a supervisor breathing down my neck. Oh and I help people. I kinda like to do that.

John and I can't wait to move! we are slowly but surely getting all our stuff packed and ready for the big day. We hit a milestone in our relationship yesterday. We have now been married for 6 months! Woohoo! Made it! Not that I had doubts but it was so exciting yesterday when i realized it had been 6 months. I went to John's work for lunch and when he saw me he pulled me in for a kiss and hug and said "happy anniversary." I was so impressed he even remembered. He then teased me and said he couldn't believe that I hadn't remembered. He is a romantic even if he denies it. I was actually just thinking about the time when we first started dating that he brought me some roses out of blue "just because." That swept me off my feet. He doesn't things like that all the time. He notices when I clean the house and he always tells me how beautiful I am... I so appreciate it especially on days I feel less than ok.

I am just so glad I am out of the dating scene and have such a wonderful man that I married. He is a real charmer. So compassionate and giving. He always is the first to want to go and help someone. Even if he doesn't know them. If we can spare it and he has money on it, he doesn't hesitate to give it to someone on the street who may need it more than us. I learn so much more from him every day.

I love my husband. I am so grateful that he traveled across the world to find me!

Full Speed Ahead.

As I am writing this I am sitting in one of our new couches! Summer is such a doll. She is letting us keep the couches at our place until she is done with school... aka New furniture! Then of course since we are moving we decided that it might be nice to have a real table. Not that I dont adore the borrowed fold up card table and fold up chairs we borrowed from Grandpa, but I was thinking more along the lines of wood. So we went to Uncle Miles' work at Mor Furniture and picked out a table and chairs and he was wonderful and gave us a discount. Love the contacts! Then while browsing all the possibilities I found a lonely dresser that was all by itself. I asked Miles to price it and  wala! It was the last one in stock and therefore on clearance! Luv it! Good Buy! Good Buy!

John was so good, he and his cousin carried all the couches and stacked them all in one load on his brother in laws truck. He seems to be so talented at organizing all that kind of stuff. In fact he is so good that while workin people will tip him for making everything fit when no one else could get it to fit. This will definately come in handy when we are moving.

Favorite moment of the day has to be with me and john sitting on the reclining love seat and the dogs snuggling each of us. Izzy, our girl dog, is John's dog. She has been acting all hurt and not coming to snuggle him as much. Usually she ignores me and only gives him luvs but recently she has been giving him the cold shoulder. I think John was really hurt because that's his girl!

I feel like things are really going to just be better overall from here on out. These first 6 months of marriage have been rough having only one income. The blessings just keep pouring in! I am not going to pretend like things are happening by chance. I have a firm belief and confirmation that all the wonderful things that have been happening have been a blessing from God. No way we would have everything working out the way it has any other way.

I learn so much from John. He has such a strong testimony and lots of faith. He always says that everything will work out. I try to remember that, but sometimes I just need him to help remind me.

Anyways I think that is all we have going on so far... but more should come up soon!

What is the world coming to?

What is the world coming to? My younger brother Jeremiah called me telling me to invest in hasmat suits to fight off the radiation that is sure to come and kill us all. You have to keep in mind that Jeremiah gets really excited about science talk and 'what ifs.'

Earlier today while I was walking our neighbors dog along the golf course i came across an injured goose. Now I grew up around geese and we mostly just shot, plucked, and ate the geese. But that was the last thing i thought about. The goose couldn't even stand on its one leg. The other was obiously injured and so was its wing. So I called animal control who informed me that they dont deal with wild life. They told me to go talk to Fish & WildLife who I then talked to. F&W said they no longer receive the funding necessary to care for injured wildlife. They suggested I call this wildlife animal clinic in Kent(really in Maple Valley) who would care for the animal if we paid for the care. Then we called this clinic who informed us that they were actually in Maple Valley and that the closer clinic would be in Renton. They said that they would help us there as long as we caught the animal and brought it in our car to them and then paid for the fees. Being a struggling newly married couple I have no idea how we would afford the gas to get there or the fee to care for the animal properly. Ugh! The animal lover in me wanted to freaking cry.
John was so sweet and went to go get the goose when we saw our Apartment Maintenance guys and we informed them of the situation. They asked if we were going to do something about it. I looked at them like they were crazy. Its on their property!!! then they said they would call animal control and I informed them of the wild goose chase I had just went on to find out the process to help the goose. Pardon the pun there. Then they said they didn't know what they would do but they would talk to the apartment managers.

That wasn't even close to satisfactory so I called the North Shore Golf Course Club and told them about the goose and which hole it was near by on the golf course. They asked me what I wanted them to do about it!!! I told them what to do and they asked if I was goin to do something about it. I wanted to freaking reach through the phone and punch the guy. Then he transfered me to another guy. He was annoyingly unoriginal and told me to take care of it because they dont have the manpower to spare.

So tonight after work since I can't just ditch work I am going to go get the goose and we are going to bring it to the clinic if its still open. Maybe we will just have to try to care for it for a while. I am so not cut out for that! A pet goose, what am I Joey Tribiani.

Why dont we have funding for wild life? Who cut that funding? Crazies in our Government. Attention please. Stop loading your pockets and do something about our environment. You are frustrating the public.

Sorry if I offended anyone with my rant but I can't believe no one will help the poor helpless creature! Stupid Bystander effect!

My Consumer Report...

I like to read up on consumer reports because I feel like I will get some insight from the experts. Problem is that not all consumer reports have my same interests so i am going to compose my own list.

  • Best Chiropractor in Federal Way, WA- Larry Hansen, Twin Lakes Chiropractic.
    • Larry and the other chiro's here are so amazing. They are all like extended family to me and John. Great bed manner, reasonable prices if you dont have insurance, and they adjust you without hurting you. I have had my share of bad chiropractors. so i rate this as a 5 star *****
  • Best Island Barbeque- L&L Barbeque
    • they have an amazing BBQ platter which John luvs and Lau Lau. I prefer the Chicken Katsu.
  • Laudry Soap- TIDE smells the best but is a bit pricey for the coupon mom... but Kirkland brand is awesome and smells good too!
  • Fabric Softener- Kirkland brand is inexpensive, lasts forever and smells great.
  • Dog food- Kirkland brand Lamb flavor.
    • This is a 40lb bag that lasts us forever, has all whole meats instead of byproduct crap, and it is only $27 for the whole thing! Compare this to Iams or Purina one thats $19 for a 15lb bag.
  • Gas Prices- Right now FredMeyer and Costco are the leading gas places with cheap prices.
    • Why does gas keep going up! Drives me insane but these two places are the most reasonable with the unreasonable Prices in comparison.
  • Best Smoothie place- L&L suprisingly has the best smoothies every! Their Island Breeze is my favorite.
    • Second best and more popular is Jamba Juice- I like fruity stuff, what can I say.
  • Best Gym- LA Fitness.
    • Its open various hours. There are plenty of machines to choose from that you dont have to wait for someone to jump off to actually get a workout in.
    • They even have volleyball on Friday nights which is actually really good.
  • Dish Soap- Dawn! Nothing more is needed.
  • Dish Washer soap= Cascade.
    • Doesn't leave marks on the dishes thankfully.
  • Deoderant- Adidas for Women
    • My friend in college turned me onto this one. You can only find it at FredMeyer but it is so worth it! I have searched for the best deoderant that would last all day and keep the tacos away. 5*****
  • Chap Stick- Natural Ice- Only found at Fredmeyer.
    •  It seriously is like a miracle for the lips. Caution: Keep out of reach of your dogs. They eat it.
  • Tampons- Tampax Gentle Glide
    • Men avert your eyes. Seriously what more do I need to say. It doesn't leak. and its not uncomfortable at all
  • Feminine Pads- Kotex Regulars
    • inexpensive, doesn't bunch.
  • Toothpaste- Crest plus scope/whitening
  • Shampoo- Pantene- Smells awesome and keeps the hair moisturized.
Well now everyone knows my shopping list... but these are products I seriously wouldn't choose any other. But if anyone feels different and has better experience with other products Please Share!!!

New Chapter!

We just found out we were approved for the apartment we wanted! We get to move into our new apartment sometime late April, around the 22nd I think. The new apartment is a two bedroom one bath and it is perfect! I already have the plans for the decorations running through my mind. John's first plan when we get all moved in is to have a huge bbq! Being on the first floor will have tons of perks. First we wont have to get all ready to take the dogs outside to go to the bathroom, just a few steps out the back door!

At Sacrament meeting today our Bishop gave an amazing talk on Financial preperation and security. He discussed several important steps we as couples should do.

  • pay tithing promptly
  • create a written monthly budget
  • create a written categorized list of monthly expenses
  • Review this report with your spouse monthly
  • Create a written savings plan w/ goals for the future
  • have a 3-5month reserve for expenses
I love this advice! Apparently my type-A personality pays off in this area. I categorize every expense and have everything in folders for each bill, seperated into past and present bills. Now to organize a savings plan and have some reserve there.

Financial infedelity seems to be a problem in society today. This is where one person lies about expenses or withholds money, awareness, or responsibility of the finances from the other spouse. For example the wife spending money on a toy or dress or something not necessary without tellin her husband. Secrets don't make friends... they just start fights.

Something to think about at least.

Give it a shot.

So we now have five months into the marriage! We made it! Not that I doubted but still it feels like we have been married for years already. Some things that people dont mention to you when you first get married is that there will some serious tough times. Thank goodness we have been so blessed recently. We recently acquired a new mini van, John got a job, and we are looking to move into a new apartment. I feel like I can actually breathe without fear that the wolves will be at my door soon.

We recently went on a trip with one of our couple friends Chelsey and David Jarvis, and their dog Diesel.. We went to West Port, WA to camp on the beach. However my version of camping included a camping trailor and indoor plumbing. We brought our two dogs with us, Izzy and Leo. They have the best time playing with Diesel. When we were on the beach it was so windy that the sand covered the dogs to the point that Leo & Izzy were black! We can't wait to go back to the beach and have them play in the sand without the windy sand this time.

The rumors are not true... I am not pregnant at this time. I told John that I didn't want to have kids and have them riding in our little black car. Now that Summer gave us her van, I guess I am running out of restrictions! I used to say I never would have a mini-van... I am eating those words right about now. And they dont taste that bad.

With the recent Tsunami that impacted the Pacific coast, we were so grateful that our family in Samoa was unharmed. John plans to go to Samoa for his sisters graduation. Hopefully I will be able to go with him in the near future. It would be nice to say I actually went out of the country, and someplace exaotic even!
